Things I’m Thankful For

On December 30, 2008, in Frank's Friends, by Frank T. Dawg

Since the year is almost over, I thought I’d look back on 2008 and reminisce about the year and some of the stuff I’m thankful for:

The Tall Lady
At the top of my list is Debbie Schjodt, my current guardian and drinking partner.  This was my first year away from my PoolDawg home and Debbie was nice enough to schlep me around and introduce me to all the nice folks at the WPBA.  Plus, she got me a totally crunk dog bowl when we moved to Atlanta and she introduced me to my Florida buddy Nikki Rasmussen (who I still miss).

The Cherry Bomb
When I wasn’t hanging out with Debbie, I was traveling through Texas and Arizona with my buddy Samm Diep.  In addition to getting to hang with her supercool dog Vegas, she introduced me to all the ladies on the Ladies Spirit Tour and even made me a new dog house while she helped out in the PoolDawg offices.

The Rowdy One
I can’t talk about 2008 without mentioning my rowdy little buddy Sarah Rousey.  Whenever the tall lady wasn’t around, Sarah was keeping an eye on me, getting me drinks, feeding me pizza and guarding me from the dognappers.

Super Glue
One thing I learned from my travels this year is that you never leave home without copious amounts of super glue and bandages.  When you’re hanging with the rough and tumble members of the WPBA, The Spirit Tour and the OB Cues Tour, you’ve gotta be prepared for some bumps and bruises.  Among the injuries this year were a broken leg, a puncture wound in the neck and multiple broken tails.

PoolDawg’s Customers
Let’s face it, without our customers, I wouldn’t be traveling around the globe hanging with famous people and partying down WPBA style.  Our customers are the ones who really keep my bowl full so I feel pretty damn lucky to have thousands of loyal customers helping us grow.

Thanks for a fantastic 2008 everyone!

WPBA Championships Hangover

On November 28, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

Sorry about the lack of posts lately.  The tall lady went to NYC after the WPBA championships to celebrate with Monica and Helena, so I’ve been waiting on her to get back and help me upload the pictures.   We got lots of shots with our friends in the WPBA and the Spirit Tour and the fans.

It wasn’t all fun and games though.  Those WPBAers are crazy rowdy and once again I ended up with a broken tail.  Debbie was nice enough to do a little surgery between matches to fix my tail, but I don’t know how much more of this I can take!

Anyway, once Debbie wakes up from her tryptophan coma, we’ll get the rest of the pictures uploaded and posted up on the blog.

4th Place in Florida

On November 11, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

Well, so far we’ve been having a much better time in Florida than in the last couple of events.  The Tall Lady finished 4th in the Ladies Spirit Tour finale and in the process scored a win over Yu Ram Cha which was pretty sweet.  The competition at that Spirit Tour event was just brutal with the final four being Debbie Schjodt, Monica Webb, Helena Thornfeldt and Tracie Hines (who won the event).  I saw some other familiar faces there with Michell Monk, Tiffany Nelson and of course my old pal Niki Rasmussen who was rockin’ my new t-shirt.

Anyway, we’re sticking around the Florida area this week since the WPBA Championships start in a couple days over in Hollywood.  It’ll probably be a little bit before we get pictures of the Spirit Tour event up since Debbie’s training for this weekend, but we’ll get ‘em up soon.
