Back on the Road (Finally)!!

On August 16, 2011, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

It’s been a really quiet year for old Frank T. Dawg. With the retirement of my previous handler and with Samm busy starting up her new pool league, I’ve been spending a lot more time doing my best Han Solo frozen in carbonite imitation. Thankfully, August is here, which means I’ll be hanging out with Keven, Mike, Brent, Dave, Alexis and about 10,000 pool players out in Vegas for a couple weeks. That’s right, it’s time for APA Nationals!

Being a bit of an APA nationals veteran (this is my 6th trip to nationals), I know exactly what I need to bring with me to keep me going through the entire event:

  • Piles of PoolDawg stickers? Check.
  • 6 Cases of PoolDawg chalk to give away? Check.
  • A pallet of pool cues, cases and accessories? Check.
  • Bottle of acetaminophen?  Check.
  • Giant box of Berry flavored 5 hour crack?  Check.
I’m outta here today since it takes the crew two days to set up our booth and front all the product (yes, we’ll have a ton of stuff for sale at the booth).  If you’re going to nationals, be sure to stop by the PoolDawg booth and say hi to your old pal Frank.

Mmmm…. Double Double

On May 13, 2010, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

Have I ever mentioned how completely awesome my buddy Samm Diep is?  Since Keven, Brent and Dave are all busy setting up the booth and Sarah is working for Mezz on this trip, Samm is making sure I get taken care of.

Samm always knows the best places to take me for food.  In Philly, she took me to Pat’s and Geno’s for the world’s best cheesesteaks and now I finally had the chance to try out what has to be the best fast food burger on the planet.

That’s right. I finally got one of the famous Double Double with Cheese burgers I’ve been hearing Mike the marketing guy yammer on about.  In and Out is a regional chain, so if you don’t live in California, Arizona or Nevada, chances are you’re never going to have a chance to experience this burger.  Seeing as how we’re in Vegas though, I got to nosh a bit and it was totally worth the wait!

Don’t forget that I’ll be running all around Vegas over the next week or so and will be giving out $25 gift certificates to five lucky fans who are nice enough to pose with me.  If you’re going out for the show, just look for the crazy lady with the red hair carrying me around.

It Begins…

On May 6, 2010, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

We are officially entering show season.  The Super Billiards Expo was the warm up act, but this month Team PoolDawg will be hitting Vegas in full force for the BCA Nationals event.  As always, we’ll be bringing a lot of stuff.  And by a lot, I mean a ton!

This crate, affectionately called “the sarcophagus” by the marketing guy is how we get all our stuff from Colorado to Vegas.  This of course doesn’t include all the shelves, banners and fencing that make up our booth.  This is just product.

Every year Keven does his best Tetris impression and fills every square inch of space with product.

Since he forgot to leave some space for me, I’ll be travelling in style (or as much style as one can travel in when you’re shoved in a smelly backpack under an airplane seat).

For those that have gone to BCA Nationals before, you’ll be able to find us once again in the same spot we inhabit every year.  Newbies, just come in the front door and walk down the main hallway to the back wall.

In addition, my buddy Samm Diep will once again be running me around getting pictures.  We’re giving away dawg dough for the best pictures so be sure to find me and Samm and don’t forget to be creative!
