Hard Times for Frank

Not in the way you’re thinking!  I’m talking about the world famous Hard Times Billiards of course.

A couple weeks ago I got to hang with 30 or so wonderful ladies thanks to my pal Melissa Herndon.  If you haven’t heard, she’s got a regional tour running in Southern California, which means I get to spend some time having fun in the warm California sun.

First stop was a quick hello with the winner of the inaugural event, one Tina Pawloski (along with Vicki Wade).

After watching some excellent pool and seeing a number of old friends including Melissa Morris and an always camera shy OMGWTF, I got to watch the delightful Stacy Novack defeat Melissa Morris 9-5 to take the win.

As always, photos are up on the Flickr feed, so be sure to head over there for the rest of the pics!  Also, don’t forget to check out the Southern California Ladies 9 Ball Tour (especially if you live in the area).

I’m Goin’ Back To Cali…

As I’m sure many of you heard, my buddy Melissa Herndon started up a new regional tour in Southern California and PoolDawg has signed on as a sponsor.

Since we’re involved, Mike the Marketing Guy has decided to add to my already packed travel schedule by sending me out to California for the remainder of the events.  So, in addition to Las Vegas (x2), Oklahoma, Virginia and a few other places, I’ll be hanging with a brand new group of ladies, including my new pal Critter and the infamous OMGWTF lady.

If you live in Southern California, you should check out the schedule and see when an event is coming to your town.  A full field of top regional players plus the chance to be seen with old Frank T. Dawg?  What more could you ask for?  Check out their website at http://www.scl9t.com/ for details.

By the way, I heard a rumor that I might be getting to rub elbows with some celeb types soon in the NYC.  We’ll see if it pans out…

Ah Debbie, she’s all about making things exciting.  In her first match, she came back from 6-1 to win 8 straight racks and take her opening round match 9-6, but in her second match she wasn’t quite so fortunate.  Debbie found herself matched up against Melissa Herndon and ended up losing a 9-8 hill-hill heartbreaker.

Next up for the tall one is the winner of the Morgan Steinman/Rachael Abbink match.  Looking ahead, if Debbie is able to win her third match, she’ll be matched up against Liz Ford, Dawn Hopkins or Ming Ng.  The winner of that match will then go up against the loser of the Jennifer Chen/Jeanette Lee match to get to the redraw.  Debbie plays at 3:15 PST today so come to the live stream and cheer her on.
