Packing for Oregon

On September 25, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

Its that time again.  The tall lady has another tournament next week which means I’ll get shoved into an overhead compartment for 5 hours this weekend while she gets to fly in the luxurious coach class.  I guess it beats getting tossed around by those baggage handlers, but I really would rather ride in the car.

Anyway, next week we’ll be in Lincoln City hanging out with fans, WPBAers and APAers.  Debbie’s been practicing like a crazy lady, so I’m hoping she does better in Lincoln City.  She promised be a supersized bag of Snausages if she plays well, so you can imagine how hard I’ll be cheering for her.

Since I going to be there for a week, I figured I’d check out the hotel to see what it looks like.  Can you say swanky?!?!  Plus, it looks like the hotel bar is nicer than some of the hole in the wall places I’ve been to in the past.

No pool table in there, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to find a table somewhere to knock some balls around…  Anyway, the tall lady and I will be there all week, so be sure to stop by and say hi if you’re in the neighborhood!

OMGWTF?!?!

On September 18, 2008, in Frank's Friends, by Frank T. Dawg

Ok, so I just got some news that has me chasin’ my tail I’m so excited.  Apparently we’re going to have a surprise guest that weekend, because the infamous OMGWTF will be making an appearance at the WPBA Pacific Coast Classic.

For those of you who don’t know her, OMGWTF writes quite possibly the funniest pool blog on the planet with pearls of wisdom like “If someone tries to shark you, but you don’t know it, and you beat them anyway — does the sharking actually exist?”

Since I’m all about meeting and hanging out with the famous and infamous, this has me more pumped than the day when I snuck into the Piggly Wiggly and broke into a full bag of Snausages when no one was looking.

Training for Oregon

On September 17, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

I talked to the tall lady today and she mentioned that we wouldn’t be going to the Spirit Tour stop in Florida this weekend.  I’m pretty bummed that I don’t get to see my pal Niki Rasmussen, but the tall lady wants to get some extra practice time in before the Pacific Coast Classic and since we’re living in Georgia now, its going to be tough to make the trip back down to Florida.

The tall lady is determined to have a better showing next month.  I’m not sure what her training regimen will be, but I don’t think she’ll be waking up at 5AM, pounding a few raw eggs and running through the city Rocky style.  I sure hope there aren’t any 5AM wakeup calls anyway… this dawg’s gotta get his z’s to look his best.
