Ah Debbie, she’s all about making things exciting. In her first match, she came back from 6-1 to win 8 straight racks and take her opening round match 9-6, but in her second match she wasn’t quite so fortunate. Debbie found herself matched up against Melissa Herndon and ended up losing a 9-8 hill-hill heartbreaker.
Next up for the tall one is the winner of the Morgan Steinman/Rachael Abbink match. Looking ahead, if Debbie is able to win her third match, she’ll be matched up against Liz Ford, Dawn Hopkins or Ming Ng. The winner of that match will then go up against the loser of the Jennifer Chen/Jeanette Lee match to get to the redraw. Debbie plays at 3:15 PST today so come to the live stream and cheer her on.
Good morning from Cali everyone! Debbie Schjodt and I are here in Alpine, California chillin’ and doing some pre-match prep work waiting for the tall lady’s first match.
This morning, Debbie goes up against Rachel Eliazar who finished #3 in my buddy Cici Strain’s Tiger Pool Tour back in 2008. The winner of her match will go on to face the winner of the Melissa Herndon/Stephanie Mitchell match. It seems like forever ago when I last got to hang out with all my WPBA friends, so needless to say, I’m pretty excited to be back on tour.
In other matches we’re watchin, our little buddy Sarah Rousey is matched up against Suzanne Smith and my new friend Cristina De La Garza will be playing Ga Young Kim.
Back later with some results.
Its been way too long since I’ve been out on the road with Debbie, so needless to say, I’m chomping at the bit (well, I’d be chomping at the bit if I was a horse anyway) to get out to San Diego for the 2009 San Diego Classic. Debbie’s been getting some extra training from Monica and Helena, so she should be ready to kick some butt this week.
In addition to some great pool, I’m looking forward to seeing all my pals from the WPBA. Jasmin Ouschan, Allison Fisher, Kelly Fisher and of course my rowdy little buddy Sarah Rousey.
I’ll be updating the blog with results and if we can figure it out, I’ll see what I can do to put the WPBA live streaming matches on the blog as well.
