Updates from the US Open

On July 31, 2009, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

What an exhausting first day at the US Open.  Sarah won her first match 9-7 over Miyuki Sakai, got some time to rest and then went up against Tracie Hines.  Unfortunately, Tracie got the best of her with a 9-7 win, pushing Sarah over to the one loss bracket.

Sarah’s got her work cut out for her.  This morning she’ll go up against WPBA veteran Belinda Calhoun.  The winner of that match will go on to play the winner of the Susan Williams vs. Morgan Steinman match.  To get back to the redraw, she’ll need to win 3 matches today.

4th Place in Florida

On November 11, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

Well, so far we’ve been having a much better time in Florida than in the last couple of events.  The Tall Lady finished 4th in the Ladies Spirit Tour finale and in the process scored a win over Yu Ram Cha which was pretty sweet.  The competition at that Spirit Tour event was just brutal with the final four being Debbie Schjodt, Monica Webb, Helena Thornfeldt and Tracie Hines (who won the event).  I saw some other familiar faces there with Michell Monk, Tiffany Nelson and of course my old pal Niki Rasmussen who was rockin’ my new t-shirt.

Anyway, we’re sticking around the Florida area this week since the WPBA Championships start in a couple days over in Hollywood.  It’ll probably be a little bit before we get pictures of the Spirit Tour event up since Debbie’s training for this weekend, but we’ll get ‘em up soon.

More Pics From The Florida State Championships

Debbie finally finished putting up the pictures from the 2008 Florida State Championships.  Lots of awesome pictures of me hanging with friends, players and fans.  One my my personal favorites was me helping 2008 champ Tracie Hines do the Captain Morgan pose.  The best part of the trip though… hanging out with my new pals Kona and Kua.

By the way, I wanted to give a shout out to the new Florida State champ, Tracie Hines.  She played lights out the entire tournament, winning her last two matches 7-2 and 7-2.
