Home Alone

On February 19, 2009, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

So get this – The tall lady runs off to New York (again!) with Monica and Helena, leaving me at home, which I’ve somewhat gotten used to since its still the off season and the girls want to have fun without me.  Usually when this happens though, I have other stuff to keep me busy.  When they were in NYC over the holidays, I got to hang back at the PoolDawg offices with the gang and my buddy Samm Diep who was pitching in over there, but not this time.  Not only am I chillin’ in Hotlanta by myself, but even Samm forgot about me.

See, Samm is competing this week in Washington in the WPBA Regional Championships along with some of my other buddies from the Arizona Women’s Tour, the OB Cues Tour and the Spirit Tour.  Apparently she forgot that I’m really a railbird in a bulldogs body because I’m still here in Atlanta while she’s over in Bellevue Washington prepping to play against some of the world’s top up and coming women’s players.

That’s ok though.  Next time I see her, I’m just going to drool in one of her giant cups of Sweet Tea when she’s not looking.  If you’re lucky enough to be at the championships this weekend, be sure to wish her luck for me and everyone at PoolDawg.

What A Weekend!

On November 17, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, Frank's Friends, by Frank T. Dawg

Can I tell you how much of a blast it was in Florida this weekend?  The tall lady played some solid pool, going hill-hill in three of her four matches and two of our good friends are going to be famous.  Sarah Rousey made it to the semifinals of the WPBA Championships, getting two of her matches televised for broadcast on ESPN next month, so she’ll be on the tube for the first time.

Sarah got knocked out in the semis by Kelly Fisher, but nobody was able to stop our pal Monica Webb. Monica (who helps me and Helena keep Debbie out of trouble) took down Vivian Villarreal in the semifinals 7-5 and then beat Kelly Fisher 7-4 in the finals to win her first ever WPBA title!

Over the next week or so, Debbie will be helping me upload pictures from both the WPBA championships as well as the Spirit Tour finale that we went to the week before.  In the meantime, feel free to join me in giving a huge congrats to two of my favorite Friends of PoolDawg, Sarah Rousey and Monica Webb.

Schjodt Watch – Match #4

On November 15, 2008, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

Another match, another hill-hill thriller for the tall lady.  Unfortunately though, the balls didn’t roll her way and Debbie got knocked out with a heartbreaking 9-8 loss to Jennifer Chen.  Still, it was a good event for Debbie.  Plus, this gives us more time to hang out with the fans, get some pictures and maybe have a white wine spritzer…

Also, huge congrats go out to our pal Sarah Rousey who took down Allison Fisher 9-4 to make it into the TV round!
