WPBA Amateurs Coming To Town

On November 15, 2010, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

I don’t know what you all will be doing this weekend, but I’ll be heading down to the Wynkoop to hang out with some of my pool playing pals.  See, this weekend, Denver’s own Wynkoop bar and grill will be hosting the WPBA National Amateurs tournament.  I’m not sure who all will be there, but I know that three of my favorite ladies will be in attendance – Samm Diep, Gail Glazebrook and Borana Andoni (pictured here with Olga Gashkova).

I get to see Samm all the time, but I pretty much never get to hang out with Gail and Borana since they live over in New York.  Plus, the Wynkoop is owned by our current mayor and Governor Elect, so maybe I’ll get to rub elbows with some local celebs too.

If you live in the mile high city, be sure to stop by and watch some awesome amateur pool!

Back From the WPBA US Open

On August 6, 2010, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

I love the US Open.  Every year it’s one of the best WPBA events on the schedule and this year was no exception.  There haven’t been many tour stops this year, so I was really looking forward to seeing some of my old friends and making some new ones.

While we were in Oklahoma, I ended up running into an old friend in “Kiss of Death” team member Emily Duddy (now officially on the WPBA tour).

As always, you can check out all the US Open pictures here along with over 1,000 others from the past 3 years of touring with the WPBA.

Taiwan Baby!!

On February 22, 2010, in Frank's Adventures, by Frank T. Dawg

After months of being ignored, it’s finally time to get out of Illinois and back on the road.  Once I shake off all the dust from being locked in the back of Sarah’s closet, I’ll be traveling to Taiwan for the Amway Cup!

This will be my first trip out of the country, so needless to say I’m pretty excited.  I know a few of my friends from the WPBA will be heading to Taipei as well, so I won’t get too lonely while Sarah is busy kicking ass.

The real reason I want to go though is to check out the Formosan Mountain Dogs.

Formosan

These dogs are all from Taiwan and they have these totally wicked black tongues.  I probably won’t see one since they’re really rare, but you never know.  After Taiwan, Sarah and I will be flying over to San Diego for the first event of the 2010 WPBA season, the San Diego Classic, then we’ll be off to Philly for the Super Billiards Expo.
